A deeper look at the texts, but also beyond the texts, examining:

§         The Liturgical Act:  How can the spirit of the new texts have a positive influence 
on the liturgy as a whole?

§         Liturgical Language: How is the liturgy expressed in word, gesture, sign and symbol?

§         Rekindling the spirit of the Liturgy: How can we lead our people to a renewal in worship and from there, a renewal of the life of the church.?


Presenter
Monsignor. Kevin Irwin

Monsignor Kevin Irwin is a priest of the archdiocese of New York who is the Dean of the School of Theology and Religious Studies at The Catholic University of America.  He holds the Walter J. Schmitz, Chair of Liturgical Studies. Monsignor Irwin has authored fourteen books on liturgy and sacraments including Models of the Eucharist. He has been  a consultant to the USCCB Committee on Divine Worship since November 2004 and a member of the Leeds Group, founded by Bishop Arthur Roche of the Diocese of Leeds, England to prepare materials for the implementation of the third edition of the Roman Missal.

Reverend Paul Turner

Reverend Paul Turner, a  priest of the diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph,is pastor of St. Munchin parish in Cameron, MO and its mission, St. Aloysius in Maysville.  His books include  Let Us Pray: A Guide to the Rubrics of Sunday Mass, and When Other Christians Become Catholic.  Fr. Turner  writes "Bulletin Inserts" for Ministry and Liturgy.  He is a former president of the North American Academy of Liturgy and a team member for the North American Forum on the Catechumenate.  He has served as a translator for the International Commission on English in the Liturgy.

Ms. Vicki Klima

Ms Vicki Klima was the Director of the Worship Center for the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis for nearly 20 years and served multiple terms on the FDLC Board of Directors.  She currently works at a parish in Eden Prairie, MN.

Rev. Paul Colloton
1. Chants of the Missal 

With an eye to the General Instruction of the Roman Missal and Sing to the Lord: Music in Catholic Worship, Fr. Paul will show how an emphasis on singing by priests and deacons needs to be an integral part of the implementation plan for the Roman Missal.  Time allotted for demonstration and Q & A. 

Rev. Paul Colloton is Director of Continuing Education for the National Association of Pastoral Musicians (NPM). He olds a Doctor of Ministry in Practical Theology with a concentration in Word and Worship from Catholic Theological Union, Chicago.

2. Blogging and Social Media: 
A Gateway to Community 

Blogs, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube aren't just ways to procrastinate at work. They have become tried, tested, and necessary tools for ministry, formation, and evangelization in today's church. Learn basic steps and principles for using these social media tools, how they work with the other ways you communicate, and why it changes how we prepare the liturgy.

Ms. Diana Macalintal is the Director of Worship for the Diocese of San Jose in California and holds a Master of Arts in Theology, cum laude, from Saint John's University, Collegeville, Minnesota. She initiated and maintained a blog for the Diocese of San Jose called "Work of the People" and is a co-founder of TeamRCIA.com and Awe-Full-Living.com.


Rev. Andrew Wadsworth
3. Is There Life after the Roman Missal?

Now that a recognitio has been granted for the translation of the Missale Romanum editio typica tertia, what is next for ICEL?  An update on the work of the mixed commission.

Rev. Andrew Wadworth is a priest of the Archdiocese of Westminster, England.  In 2009 he was appointed General Secretary to ICEL, taking up the post in September of that year.
